GeoBI Initiative

Andrea Gioia will be there to represent the Inititative all the 3 days in the Community Village. Emmanuel Belo of Camptocamp will join him the third day.

They will does together a presentation of the Initiative and a couple of short demos (GeoReport & GeoMondrian) in the workshop area.

IGA is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization that works with the Economic and Social Council of ONU and European Union partners for Campaign for Take Off (CTO) of renewable energy.

The IGA is affiliated with International Renewable Energy Alliance (Alliance REN).

IGA objectives are to encourage research, development and utilization of geothermal world resources through the compilation, publication and dissemination of technical and scientific information both in the community of geothermal specialists and not.

In particular IGA has created and implemented a database containing updated information on geothermal systems installed in the world.

The database was used as source data for SpagoBI platform in order to display data in aggregate mode and generate cartographic report with GeoReport.

Thanks to SpagoBIGeoReportEngine it is now possibile to:

1. represent geothermal fields locations in the world in which electricity is produced
2. map the nations that currently have benefit from geothermal energy
3. generate and export several reports querying data from a WebGIS OGC compliant interface
4. thematize cartographic features on the map by selecting different indicators

What is GeoReport?

GeoReport is an interactive decision-support tool, caracterized by a WebGIS OGC compliant interface connected with analytics and reporting tools provided by external BI platforms.

GeoReport allows to generate reports based on thematic maps (Report Cartographic) using spatial data coming from different sources (SHP, GeoJSON, WMS, WFS, WCS, GoogleMap, OpenStreetMap, etc. ..) and intrinsically linked to many others of different kind (coming from DBMS, file systems, OLAP, CRM, ERP, etc…). Thanks to an intuitive web interface, users can analyze the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) directly on the territory.

GeoReport is also configurable so that users can easily set all the parameters needed for executing reports, visualizing maps, recovering data, setting indicators and maps thematization.

What does Georeport?

• Associates the “business data” (those of interest for the user) to cartographic features provided through OGC protocols or direct access to file system
• Executes a variety of reports by clicking on a cartographic map elements: pie charts, bar charts, indicators, tables, pivot, etc. ..
• Exports reports in the most common exchange formats (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, TXT, etc. ..)
• Thematizes map by using geostatistical techniques such as Choropleths or Propotionals based on results obtained by querying “business” data (SQL, scripting in various languages, Web Services connections, OLAP queries, etc.. .)
• Detects users by role enabling or disabling them data and reports access

Which version?

• Old versions of GeoReport stand alone tool support both PentahoBI (until 3.x) and SpagoBI suites (until 2.3).
